Burgundy and Velvet Seaside Wedding

We love when brides and grooms step out of the all neutral color palette by embracing deeper saturated colors and incorporate fun textures into their wedding day.  Ashely and Tony’s wedding in Seaside, Florida did just that!  Ashley’s bridesmaids were sashed with burgundy velvet while Tony and his groomsmen had eye-catching bowties to match.  The reception was not forgotten either with these gorgeous unexpected colors placed throughout the tablescapes, floral arrangements filled with these pops of burgundy and pinks, all placed on linens that looked like a bed of roses.  With the new year around the corner, we are excited to see our future clients’ weddings come to life with color and texture just like this one.

Fiesta-Inspired Summer Wedding in Rosemary Beach

Gold tones, pops of color, and tacos made for a perfect Summer wedding in Rosemary Beach, Florida. The fiesta-inspired banners strung above the lawn of the town hall paired perfectly with the jalapeño margaritas and the bubbly personalities of this bride and groom. From the beginning, this couple wanted to make sure their guests were comfortable and truly enjoyed themselves, and from the Photo Booth to the taco station, it looked like it was a huge success. Lauren Kinsey captured the entire fun-filled day perfectly.

From the bride:

“How we met:
JW and I met the old-fashioned way… Online. After a few texts/emails we met for lunch on a Friday and our first date lasted 5 hours and turned into happy hour!

JW started throwing me off the scent the night before. I’d been not-so-subtly hinting that I wanted to look at rings, but we hadn’t yet. He asked on a Friday night if I wanted to go look at rings the next day. I was ecstatic!

The next morning, after a mani pedi and our favorite workout class, we came home and I was sweaty and hungry (and a little cranky). He told me to wait outside our apartment- I literally thought (hoped) he was surprising me with lunch. When he said “okay, you can come in!” I opened the door… Walked down the hallway, wondering where he was, and then saw the kitchen completely filled with roses and champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and pastries, and JW waiting on one knee. His sister had snuck in while we were out, and gotten the whole surprise ready. He’d had the ring for 6 months.

My best friend Monica and her husband Danny are owners of one of the best restaurants (Paradis) in Rosemary Beach, and JW and I already had planned a trip there for spring break. As soon as we saw the Town Hall, the beaches, the square…we knew it was perfect for our wedding. We booked it almost immediately, and that same week, while we thought about what kind of food or theme we wanted, Danny suggested tacos. We knew we wanted our wedding to feel like one huge party… Not too formal, not too traditional and not too stuffy…so tacos were perfect. Paradis catered it, and I honestly think we had the best wedding food ever!

From there, we researched the vendors on the list the venue gave us, and picked who we thought would help reflect our style and personality most. Brian at Myrtie Blue was amazing and immediately ‘got’ our vision, and was great to work with. I loved Lauren Kinsey’s unique and artful style, so choosing her as our photographer was easy, and the rest just kind of fell into place. I made a lot of the details myself and Shelby was really helpful with coordinating getting everything to the venue and set up. It wasn’t easy planning a destination wedding from Chicago, but it was well worth it!

We also knew we wanted to include everyone (all 140 guests) the night before the wedding, so we planned a beach bonfire with Grayton Catering… It was amazing and perfect! One of the best parts of the weekend for sure.

Favorite moment:

I surprised JW with a song (performed by my insanely talented uncle and cousins)… right after I said my vows. It was an inside joke between the two of us, and I’m normally really bad at surprises, so pulling it off was pretty memorable.”
